CHIPBReloading the .505 Gibbs
I'm anticipating the impending arrival of my .505 Gibbs Rifle. The Rifle will be sighted in using the Norma Ammunition with the 600 Grain Woodleigh bullets. Norma publishes a muzzle velocity of 2100 fps for this ammunition. Does anyone out there know what type of gun powder and how much of it would be required to duplicate the Norma performance? Thanks. Chip.

jeffeossoi don't KNOW, so with is enterly speculation
with it being norma, i would assume woody bullets, and either MRP or MRP 2, and nearly a case full ..
that's amazingly LOW velocity for a gibbs.
but norma has been loading their stuff DOWN .. look at their lott loads ...
quickload makes it clear this load is possible .. but wow, what a fireball with that slow of a powder -- 88% burnt in the barrel

tiggertate2100 isn't that far off of CIP with 600 gr bullets. 525 gr bullets only run 2350. But there is a LOT of room for improvement for the advanced handloader.
