The latest issue of Shooting Times has an article about the .17HMR, a .17 caliber rimfire from Hornady. Just got the magazine out of the mailbox last night, haven't really read it yet. Scanning the article, it looks like they're getting 2500 FPS (don't know the bullet weight) out of it. Might be a pretty neat one.

Well, the idea of a 17 grain V-Max bullet doing around 2250 fps doesn't excite me any.

And, $12 a pop for a box of 50 doesn't raise my interest level either.

Besides, I lived through the old Remington 5mm RF days...
