Can someone furnish a powder and amount for a .35 Whelen and a 225 gr Partition at 62,000 PSI, 22" barrel. What does it say for Varget weight to reach 62,000 PSI? I'm currently working with Varget and am just over 2600 FPS with no pressure signs. Thanks....that's from the Hodgdon website and is the data I used to get where I am.....I know I can go above this and like the quickload data in PSI where I can specify the PSI and work backwards..... Vapodog, My QuickLoad says 35 Whelen max is 58015 PSI. Nosler 225 Partition- 55 Grains of Varget should yield 2484 FPS with 48455 PSI 57 Grains of Varget should yield 2571 FPS with 53980 PSI I wouldn't go much over 57 grains. Rusty We Band of Brothers! Just curious if an 06 case will handle 65,000 just fine in a 270 & 25-06 why limit it to 58,000 in the Whelen? Not talking about the pressure standard just real life use. As usual just my $.02 Paul K | |||

If I was shooting a Rem-700....I'd agree fully.....but I'm shooting a M-98 and even though it's heat treated, I still will try to limit myself to 60,000 PSI.....
