How fast can you make a 150grain bullet go in a 30-30 lever gun, and still keeping the pressure safe?

I have a friend who loads the chamber with a pointed bullet and the magazines with flat points of course...

Any body know how fast a pointed bullet is compared to a flatpoint?

And do these flat points hit the same place as the spitzer?

probably be pushing it trying to get a 150 grain going much above 2300fps.

My Winchester 94 rifle, 24" barrel showed 2,275 feet per second with a stiff load of H335 and the R-P 150 RNCL bullets.

Man, I don't know! I do get 2300 FPS with a .308", 150-grain Sierra in my 7.62X39mm CZ 527 with 31.5 grains of H335. 18.5" barrel. This is pretty hot, but I get ten reloads from a batch of brass......

As you know I load the 7.62 x 39 as well and have gone with 150, 165, & 180 grains in test loads. The catch here is the .30-30 is not rated for the pressures of the X 39 case. Yes, you can get 150's at 2300 and I've shot 165's at 2150... but pressures exceed what I would want in my lever action.
