Recently loaded up and fired some 416 Rigby rounds. I noticed that all of the spent brass had some swirling powder marks around the neck, about 1/8" to 1/4" down from top. Is this indicative of a chamber issue of reloading problem? The guns new , so nothing to compare against. The brass is virgin Norma, IMR 4831, CCI 250 mag primers. Loads ranged from 93 to 95.7 grs. Any insight would be appreciated John R.

This usually means nothing. When the gas-tracks start reaching the shoulder something is usually wrong! This happens more often with low-pressure loads.

These loads may be still on the low side, still need to chrony them, yes the trace residue is only at the upper portion of the neck, thanks for the reply john
