I've decided to see just what my Savage with it's 1 in 9 twist rate will do at 500 yards (thats how long my range is).

I have H335, BL(C)-2, H4198, Reloader 10X, Benchmark and Varget on hand. All are capable of starting a 69 grainer around or above 2,900 fps. Which one is most likely to give me the best accuracy with the 69 grain MK that Sierra recommended?

My dad told me once that if you're gonna kill a rattler with a chainsaw, use the top of the bar.

Savage with a 1x9 twist, would that be an older 250-3000? It would help to know the caliber before a reply?

Well now, I'm highly embarresed.

Most people assumed from the 69 grain bullet and powder choices it is .223.

They would be right.

My bad.

Every rifle is different and how you seat the bullet, etc. etc. etc. I shoot a couple of .223/5.56 1/9s one is a heavily modified Savage model 12. I get the best results with H335 shooting Berger 73 gr. or 70 gr. Sierra MKs
