Federal primers
Just bought 10,000 215 and 210 match primers. Country Attic Treasures ships primers. He has 20,000 215match left as of yesterday afternoon and plenty of winchester and CCI bench rest primers. Got to run. If interested in ordering, PM me so I'll get an email and I'll post his info again.

rcamugliaNever have tried the Federal primers.
Are the 215's hotter than the Win LRM?
I've only used Winchester. I'm loading for a couple of overbore cartridges; the .264WM and the 7mm RUM.
Are the Federal primers better suited?

jeffeossoif you are using slowpowders, over 80-90 grains, there's an advantage .. otherwise, keep what you got

QuintusThey are great for overbores, but I like them best for cold weather. I have noticed a distinct advantage even in 243 and 25-06 when the gets to 0 and below. That may or may not concern you, but over half of my shooting is done in real cold and 215s cut my cold warm deviation in half from Winchester or CCI primers.

338zmagI tried some loads with IMR 4350 in my 300 wsm. I used Federal 215 primers and CCI large magnum rifle primers. I got more velocity from the Federal primers. I didn't try enough loads yet with both to tell you much more than that.

I cannot tell you which is hotter honestly. I don't do much velocity checks anymore. I have enough time to go to the range, shoot groups to several hundred yards and try to squeeze in hunts here and there. I have used Remington primers which I'll never do again. Then I went to Winchesters and have been satisfied. I began using Federals just about the same time with excellent success. I was turned on to using primarily (and almost only) Federal primers because so many bench shooters and rifle builders stated that this is their preference. AND, it happens to be the primer this local store gets the most. Plus, they are typically the match primers. He has a continuous order of 50,000 210 and 215 match primers and about the same for the non-match fed primers. Winchester and CCI primers seem to be easier to get for him, but the CCI bench primers are about $44 per 1000. Sorry but I don't think they can be that much better. The Feds are $35/1000 for the 215 match, 5% off if you buy 5000.
