I was getting ready to work on some new brass for a 25-06, about 10% of the new brass (R P) is .003-.005 too short. What do you guys do with this. Seems to much to just throw away.

I'd size it,do a random case sampling for length and trim the entire lot to that dimension. "Too" short is a misnomer. Excessive length will cause pressure woes. Multiple lengths will cause accuracy woes. Slightly shortened cases of a uniform length, will shoot very nicely.

Or you can mail them to me(grin).............

Find the shortest case, then trim the rest to match the length. If it's a hunting rifle with groups og 3/4" or more, you will never be able to tell the difference.

BB,
Sinclair makes a caliber specific chamber length gage that will let you determine exactly how long your chamber is. You may find making cases out of .270 Win. more feasible. Oh, these gages cost about $4.75. Sinclair can be contacted at 260-493-2530. These gages are well worth the money and effort for the information they furnish. I have found every chamber of my rifles to be anywhere from .020" to .055" longer than S.A.A.M.I. specs. That's why my .22-250 cases are headstamped .243Win. and my .30-06 are headstamped .270Win. This also gives me a opportunity to turn the necks to fit the diameter of my chamber. I hope that this is of some help.
