Cariboo, I was aware that they had two different jacket thicknesses, but what i have trouble finding is actual information on the box or in their literature to tell which is which. Sorry for the confusing nature of my previous post. I also have to wonder if the Hornady Interbond Bullets truly do hold together better than the Nosler BT with a thicker jacket? A side by side test would be revealing.

With regards to the accubonds: The accubonds are so accurate and are not that much more that they are all I will buy for my 300WM from now on. I loaded 180 accubonds over H4831SC and the groups were terrific (less than .75" for different 5 shot groups. Bigger than my SMK groups, but I don't care to hunt with the SMKs).

I have found the ballistic tips only blow up when pushed to high impact velocities. I have taken a cow elk that weighed 650lbs, with a 165 grain ballistic tip that was exiting the muzzle at 2250 fps. Distance was 175yds and the animal was at a dead run with a dozen other elk. It went 40 yds and was down. The ballistic tip destroyed both lungs and the upper half of the liver and cut the esophagus in two also. The bullet was under the hide on the far side, not exiting. I have also noticed that VARMINT ballistic tips also penetrate quite a bit via Wood, when the velocity is throttled down below 2800 fps. In fact Ballistic Tips, both Large Caliber and Varmint Calibers performed much the same when the velocities were high or low. I think Cariboo pointed this out, using the right tool for the job. Nosler has indicated to me either the varmint or the big game bullets will open down to 1500 fps or less. If someone has doubts it warrants a little personal testing, like myself, you may be surprised on what you found. I sure was! Cheers and Good shooting seafire
