H4895 does not burn with any appreciably greater residue than the IMR version, at least in my experience with the old H4895 manufactured in Scotland, I believe. The burning range for the powders you mentioned is usually on the fast side for the .270, BUT I have found that autoloaders don't do well with the higher port pressures that slow powders generate. The medium burners may be just the ticket in your gun. I wouldn't go any slower than perhaps 4350 in an autoloader.

I thought IMR4350 might be a little slow burning for a Semi-Auto. Thats why I picked a few faster powders. If I ever get a bolt 270, I was planning on H1000, RE22, or the IMR4350. What do you think? Think 4350 would be ok in an Semi? Thanks for the info. BC

Bigcountry I've loaded for my dads & one of my brothers model 740 & 742 autoloaders for years. They are both 30-06s and I have found that H414 works very well( both accuracy wise and functioning).Either H4350 or IMR4350 would also work fine.
