I'm just getting started in reloading for rifles, and would like some suggestions on a good powder for .223 Remington pushing a 40 gr. and 55 gr. bullet?

I reload large quantitys of .223 for my AR15. I use WCC844 that is a surplus pull down powder. They compare it to H335 for load data. I use cheap bulk bullets (55 and 62 grain) from Russia and am still getting 2 inch groups at 200 yards. These are not 3-5 shot groups but rather being able to empty a whole mag into a 2 inch head on my metal man target.

A little bit ago someone posted that they had the best success with RE10.
It might have been this one: Reloader 10
Good loading!!

clapI guess I'm lucky but all these powders are working good in my .223 ,12bvss-s
  • aa2200
  • aa2230-C
  • aa2520
  • wcc844
  • wcc846
  • data 73
  • 8208
  • H380w/ some of the heavier bullets, 60-75gr.

The 2230-c is a hell of a buy for the results you get. Roll Eyesroger

I use varget in my .223 with great results. My rifles seem to like it better than anything else I have tried. Although, I have not tried some of the powders listed above.
