I am a newbie to the reloading game, although I have had the equipment on hand for years. I currently have about 50 shells already cleaned, sized and primered, ready to be charged and bullets seated. Unfortunately, 2 problems have occured that I need help with. 1) I have a box of 190gr.LSWC bought a few years ago by Midway, and neither my Speer manual nor the Accurate catalog that I have, have the 190gr. listed. I have been told that the specs for the 200 gr. will suffice. Any links or input on that one would be greatly appreciated. and 2) I am not very clear as to how to "properly" size the casings on the 44/45 cases. I am a little confused with the straight-walled cases mouth being flared to accept the bullet and then being roll crimped. Does this apply to every bullet or just the bullets that require a roll crimp like for example a HP?

I recommend that you get a reloading manuel..
Lyman has one just for cast bullets.
190 is an odd weight for a 44 special.
You can use 200gr bullet load data BUT DO NOT
REDUCE THE LOAD BELOW MINIMUN
The die set you hve should have a die with a bell or it will be built into the sizer die . it expands the mouth of the case enough for you to start a bullet.
the seater die has a roll crimp built into it and turning the die into the shell holder will increase the ammount of roll crip.

Mr

Generally speaking, it is necessary to "bell" the mouth of cases intended to be loaded with lead bullets. This is to prevent the lead from being shaved during bullet seating. The case mouth is then crimped for use in revolvers or the bell simply ironed out for single loading or for cartridges like the 45 ACP that headspace on the case mouth. The same applies to rifle ammunition to be loaded with lead bullets.

Jacketed bullets are loaded in the usual manner (no bell) and are crimped or not as necessary.
