This is the type of post one gets when one can't write. Muffintop isn't capable of writing two grammatically correct sentences in a row. Moron.

Rcaligula and Vapofrog, no, no, actually the two of you are Busheler, whatever the fuck that is.

MickinColon,

It's "interesting" how your sanctimony falls apart. Perhaps you shouldn't make rhetorical statements (a statment made as an underhanded swipe at someone rather than as a genuine suggestion). Wink

I didn’t think it was underhanded at all. You asked a question and didn’t like the answers you got. I really don’t care about your topic one way or the other, I just found it interesting how it fell apart and turned into a pissing contest.

Well, MickinColon, if you don't care why do you keep responding?

And it sounds like Vapoflog's into pissing, apparently.

I think you’re entertaining now and I have nothing better to do for a few hours. Big Grin

But make it quick, I don’t have much time for your drivel (To talk stupidly or childishly). By tomorrow, you’ll be history. I'm moving on.

MickinColon,

Let's recap: first you issue an unsolicited underhanded snide comment, then you claim you don't care what I write, and now you claim I'm entertaining but that you'll be "moving on". If I didn't know better I might suspect you had a crush on me but feel jilted. Moving on sounds like your best bet. You should chase a different colon because this one doesn't swing that way.

There once was a "Member" named Wismon,

He posted a question and cried some,

Many did answer,

But he proved to be "Cancer",

So Saeed will be forced into banning his worthless a$$ from these wonderful, informative forum pages where most guys are cool.

Oops,

That last line really didn't rhyme....

Dumb assed poetry guy.

Nor is it true, rcaligula. Just because you, a self-absorbed sycophant, start a fight doesn't mean the other person get banned.

Meanwhile Vapodolphinflogger continues to "ignore" me post for post...

By "member" do you mean "penis", homo?

You may fool the ignore-amous Vaposmog,
And get smily faces as you pass,
But your final reward will be to see yourselves as you are:
With his smiley face stuck up your ass.

Ackley Improved User: "Jim C, the final velocity of the bullet is directly proportional to the total area under the pressure curve. Thus, not all 60,000 peak PSIs are the same"

Nicely said and correctly too. But, it's meaningless to what I actually said:

"...The velocity:speed differences you see are due how different burn rates may or may not match the cartridge and bullet, ... 60 K PSI is 60 K PSI no matter what powder is used to get there." --- Meaning the man's question referenced pressures, not burn rates. Even so, note that I DID put the burn rate qualifier you labor over in the first part of my response.

Some tricky stuff, this reading. ?? Wink

If the burn rate is similar (read: the same) and the pressure is the same and one sample has more energy then the velocity of that sample must be higher.

It therefore follows that of two powders of the same burn rate that if one has more energy and the velocities are held constant than the sample with more energy will operate at a lower pressure. Otherwise the system is being cheated.

Hey wismon,

What is the purpose of this question? It seems to be an exercise in futility. Pick a powder that gives good velocity and accuracy work a load and go shoot till the barrel's worn out.

Repeat.

I can appreciate the possibility that you want to get to the bottom of how things work. To me it looks like you already do and this thread is simply to stir

What gives?

Or better yet, rcaligula, just buy store bought ammo or army surplus ammo by the crate and shoot til you lose your hearing.

Believe it or not some of us enjoy reloading for it's own sake. Furthermore the implications of the question lead one to realize that given velocities can be obtained at lower pressures, which is of interest to some of us as we ignite powder inches from our eyes.

The real question, though, is what's in it for YOU? Per your own admission you have no interest in this topic yet you jumped in with both feet to start an unprovoked fight.

Didn't get here to fight, just was bewildered bewildered at your unorthodox method of gathering information on a subject you wanted to know something about

ie. Insulting, discounting, and arguing with those who offer good faith answers.

P.S.

You don't know me verwy well (said with the Tweety Bird accent)

I don't know who you think you're fooling; your first post out of the gate was pointed and insulting. And no, I did not insult people who were honestly engaged in discussion - only those who issued moronic pat responses without addressing the data, as I requested, and those who, after investigating the data, wouldn't address the issues brought up that were related to it.

PS From the behavior you exhibited it's clear to me that I don't want to know you verwy well.

Nevertheless, RL19 gave an additional 100 fps. Run them both for the same velocities and compare pressure and I think you'll find that RL19 comes in lower.

RL19 simply using the burn rate data in QL RL19 is 1/4 the way towards H4350 from H4831.

As to the other comment. If at equal pressure RL19 is 100fps faster it stand to reason that at equal velocity RL19 pressure will be lower.

To me it is horse basically saying the same thing. In this case you can either have equal pressure and higher velocity or equal velocity and lower pressure.

Since you take them both up to a max pressure load how is one operating at lower pressure? Confused There is a good chance that at equal pressure you will have slightly higher velocity from the DB you will also have higher temp.

Ramrod's post on the first page answered your question completely yet you had a bone to pick with his "dead horse" and a pissers ensued unsolicited BY YOU.

No, it didn't "answer" it. He fixated on equal pressures and wouldn't concede that the orginial question had merit. Furthermore to tell someone who has asked a legitimate question that he is beating a dead horse is insulting. It wasn't a pissing match; to the contrary the pissing didn't occur until you and vaporod showed up and tried to piss all over things.

Absolutely!

And when we awake from our restful state induced by the beating of the 4 legged beasts, we fire bullets at equal velocities from our rifles; some with DB powders at lower pressure than others who use the SB powders of similar burn rate.

Sometimes though, we will load our rifles to the exact same pressure on purpose and the DB powder slumberers will brag about the superior velocity their sleepy firesticks produce over the SB users.

It's quite a slumber party.
