Powder Valley has very little of the 350 4# left, only a couple 310, no 340 4#. They expect to run out in the next couple weeks. Kaltron says they will not have any more of these powders until the end of April........

I just have to ask, with all the powder's available, Accurate, hodgdon, imr, winchester...etc.etc. why bother with them? The quikest way to let a company know you don't approve is to quit buying their products.

Because they are the best powders available.

I use N 340 for mid weight bullets in 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. Good velocity, low pressures, clean burning, meters well and very accurate.

I have found very little variation (if any) from lot to lot.

Target shooters tend to be a bunch of penny-pinching tight wads who would steal used brass from their mother to save a nickel. Those same people (and I use the term loosely Big Grin) pay the extra $$$$ for VihtaVouri powders; because they want to win.

That's why Smiler.

First off they develop, manafacture and test all their powders themselves in house. That is getting to be a rarity these days.

Maybe that ought to be "best powders not available ?" Wink

I have used all brands of powder available in this country extensively. I came to VV through experience.

Not too many more,

It is a very good manual.

Nice discussions on pressure and other powder characteristics.

I refer to it fairly often.

Go to the Sako Finland web sight. It lists the factory loads. They only use VihtaVouri powders. Those loads are spot on. Free to download as well.
