Remington Bullets 6.8mm Remington SPC (277 Diameter) 115 Grain Full Metal Jacket http://www.midwayusa.com/eprod...ct?saleitemid=382493 Any buddy see a danger in loading these for 270 Win, seems like a good bullet for fur hunting but concerned about its short length in a 270 Win Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer "Pass it on to your kids"

I can see no reason to not use them in a .270 but seriously doubt that it will slve the fur problem as saving hides is more a matter of velocity rather than bullet expansion. That 115 FMJ will rip a 'yote apart no different than a soft point at 3500 FPS /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." might not be bad for punching paper, but they may not be legal for hunting; as of the 2008 Oregon hunting regs, FMJ bullets are prohibited for hunting. Might want to call Fish and Game or check your state's regs before heading out. irwin

sorry, missed the "fur" part in your original post, so they might be legal, still wouldn't hurt to check with F&G.

Vapodog, maybe I'm approaching my predator loads all wrong, I have been trying to slow down smaller bullets, maybe I should be looking at bigger bullets that I can push slower Jim fur, feathers, & meat in the freezer "Pass it on to your kids"

frankly.....the .270 isn't going to be a good fur gun no matter what you do.....unless you get good at head shots....then it's not relevant what you use. If the game was fur and somehow you choose not to trap then the .22 hornet is about as strong as I'd go. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
