Has any one had any luck deer hunting with a 100 grain Rem core lock? I am not a core-lock fan but in this lite a bullet I was wondering if it would be any good on deers. Thanks in advance

I've used the Sierra 90 grain HP, 100 grain core lokt, 100 grain silvertip, 100 garin Interlock and a long list of other in the 25-06....they really do the job.....having said that today I'd prefer the 120 HP or a bonded bullet but the difference is small. If you got them.....shoot them.....if you don't get 120 grain bullets. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." AAdams, I would use the 120s if I used CLs. Yesterday at the range there was a guy shooting his 25-06 and we got to talking deer bullets. He said that he had lost several deer w/ the 100 CLs because the bullet wouldn't exit and there was no blood trail. He said on the deer that he did recover that the bullets blew apart. That was the exact experiences I had w/ the 150s in 7 RM and also in 30-06. On close shots I hardly ever got an exit w/ the CLs. They do perform well at lower velocity. I love the CLs in 30-30 win. In Dec. I shot a 7 point in the shoulder at close range w/ my 30-30 loaded w/ 150 RN CLs @ 2300 fps, that bullet was under the hide on the off side and looked like a textbook mushroom. My father took an Elk w/ the 120 CLs out of an 25-06 years ago but, I definitely wouldn't have used that combo for elk medicine. He hit that Bull square in the heart at 150 yards. Had he not gotten that lucky w/ the shot, it may have been a lost Bull. Good Luck! Reloader
