Hello fellow members, I'm looking for an accurate load in my 375 H&H using RE15 and Hornady 270Gr SP. The powder and bullets can not be change since I have many many pounds of RE15! lol. Regards, Maurice

I have used 72 gr of RL 15 with the Hornady for practice loads and had good accuracy. (Used the 270 TSX with 74 gr for hunting.) "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult."

Thanks Oday for your reply. I was heading in this direction... 72 Gr of RE15, guessing around 2600 to 2650 fps... Sounds about right. What kind of accuracy were you getting? As for the Barnes TSX, I have been loading them with 75.0 Gr of RE15 and getting 1/2 minute of moose at 100yrds. Cheers, Maurice

I have three .375s, and all of them have their 'sweet spots' between 71 and 74 gr. of RL15, with both 270 gr. Hornady RN and 270 gr. Barnes TSX. I get very good accuracy with both bullets. I know you're settled on RL15, but another load that gave me remarkable accuracy was the 300 gr. Barnes TSX with 67 gr. of IMR4064. I can't take credit for it; someone mentioned it here on the board, and I tried it with very good results.

Enigma While I prefer Varget with the Hornady 270 gr SP out of my M70 I did find a usefull load with RL15. In WW cases, WLR primers I use 74 gr RL15 under the 270 gr SP. OAL is 3.554". Velocity averages 2670 fps with the ES usually under 30 fps for a 5 shot string. Accuracy runs right at 1.5 moa with only a 2.5X scope on my M70. Larry Gibson

RL15 usually works well in the .375H&H. So far it has been best in mine (though I have a fair bit more to try). You'll need to try the full range of charges to see what works best in your rifle. If none are acceptable, then IMR4064 and W760 are also big favorites in the .375H&H LWD

Thank you everyone for your replies. I will up the charge of RE15 and see what I get with 70 to 74 GR. Regards, Maurice

Just looked at some targets using this load. Average 3 shot groups at 100 yards was less than 1 inch. Most could be covered by a US quarter including 3 cloverleafs. Load was 72 gr RL-15, Hornady cases, CCI 200 LR primers, COL 3.570" "Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult."

Enigma, My best loads with that bullets are from 72 to 75 grs R 15 depending on the powder lot. For about 2700 f/s and very good accuracy.
