What type of speeds are you guys getting with 140 gr. bullets in your 260 Remington?

I have a M700 with a 22" tube.

Here is what my handloads chrony at:

140 gr. Speer SP/RL25 (50.0 grs.)~2713 fps

140 gr. Sierra BTSP/IMR 4831 (43.3 grs.)~2531 fps

140 gr. Sierra BTSP/RL19 (45.2 grs.)~2571 fps

140 gr. Sierra BTSP/RL22 (46.4 grs.)~2704 fps

140 gr. Nosler Part./H4831sc (46.0 grs.)~2629 fps

Does this seem normal? I think I got a slow lot of RL19, but all loads seem to be max, as primers seem to be flattened just a bit. The RL22 & H4831sc loads shoot great, sub MOA.

From a 22" barrel, you should safely be able to achieve 2700-2750 fps -- so most of your loads are right on the money. In my usage, H4350 produced best velocities in the 6.5x.308 (aka .260).

I just tried some 140's with 7828 (47 grs.) and WXR (46 grs.). Velocity was 2600 fps for both.

I think I will focus on RL22 for my 140 gr. loads.
