Brian, You might try dropping the ALL CAPS! It is understood to be the equivelent of shouting. Additionally posting the "ignored post" of respected members is not the way to get polite responses.

Just a bit of unsolicited help from my experiences on AccRel.

I posted in this thread earlier a load from the Barnes manual. The post is now gone, did I commit a faux pas of some sorts?

7mm nut - not that I know of...

Try:

RL15 - 65-71.5

I4895 63.5-68

Win748: 68.5-75

Legistine actu quod scripsi?

Never under estimate the internet community's ability to reply to your post with their personal rant about their tangentially related, single occurrence issue.

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

Okay, well after searching my posts I found it. It's like there's parallel versions of this thread going on.

But I'll say it again, COAL of 3.57" per the manual, using Remington brass, Fed 215 primer and 71.5gr of RL15.

3 shots in a nearly perfect vertical group. Top edge of top hole measured to bottom edge of bottom hole was 0.987".

7MMNUT, there is. Your original, I think, was posted on the Big Bore part. Again, thanks for the dope and I'll give it a whirl.

Wow ... that's a heck of a charge range for RL-15.

I'd start low and work up. In my M70 SS Classic w a 24" bbl, my standard load for the 300 gr Barnes TSX is 68 grains of RL-15 fired by a Fed 215 in Remington brass gives me 2604 fps.

Every rifle is different ... so be careful!

Vihta N140 for 2400 fps killed from my buddies rifle many buffalo, antelope, hippo, croc and a lion. He was pretty happy with that load.

I have one bullet at home he recovered from a buffalo, it just looks like the ones in the catalog they got from the gelatine trials.

300 gr. TSX?

Try 67 gr. of IMR-4064. That's been very accurate in all three of my .375s.

My .375H&H shoots well with several weights of bullets .I keep my loading simple one powder for my .375 , as I don't ram hundreds of shells through it H4350 works well enough for me.

H4350 for 250 something slightly over 80.5 I normally don't load 250's in it . Now 260 Partitions I do , H4350 74.5-76.5 for a 300 solid I use 78.5-80.5 grains . I prefer velocity's in the 2550-2650 range an out of my rig those loads seem to do it .

I'm sure there are better powders for faster even more accurate loads but my .375 isn't a target rifle, an I'm happy with 1-1.5". While hunting the farthest I've ever shot it was 135yd ,123m , My guide measured it (pre range finder days ).

I've only been loading for 375 H&H for a couple of years now. I've had good results with H414, but with lighter bullets (250-260)

Kingbria: I agree with Butchloc, on the 4350.

The best group I have shot so far,.665 3 shots with 81/IMR4350/270 Speer Soft Point. My 300 grain load is 78.5 grains of IMR4350 groups at 1-1.2". As to COL, I shoot a bolt gun, so I just make sure I have a good magazine "clearance" and go to it.

Love your comment!!
