I am loading 45 acp using 231 and 185 gr.JSWC. I am about out of powder and while not dis-satisfied with 231 I am wondering if i could do better . I am thinking about trying some titegroup , it seems to be thought of highly. I also have some Clays and HP-38 available. For those of you who have tried these different powders , what did you think? Thanks for any input.

HP38 is 231. At least I'm pretty sure it is.

Tried Titegroup - dirty. Didn't like it at all. Accuracy was fine but it was dirty stuff.

Tried Clays - wanna buy about 7#? Never could get it to meter right.

Tried Unique - same metering problem as with Clays.

Today I use HP38 for all my light to medium loads and 2400 for my magnum loads.

Regards,

Robert

I'm actually a TG hater, never recommend the stuff. Too low a volumn, burns too hot, too narrow a load range. Best 45acp I have tried to date for target to right at factory vel. is WST. Burns cleaner than W231 & runs well w/ lead or jacketed. TG & lead can be tricky as it burns so hot, lube choice becomes criticle.
