Do you have any luck finding Norma powders over there? If so, N203B is basically RL15 and in my .308, the RL15 does a wonderful job. Norma's 2nd edition lists 44.8 grains of 203B as the max load for a 168 grain bullet in the .308

I have some Varget loads ready to test, that is again. I have tried Varget before in cartridges that others have sworn to be the best thing since sliced bread but turned to %^$F#@ for me. Well anyway, I use IMR4064 in my 308Win, that is if you are referring to the Winchester cartridge, and it gives the best accuracy I have been able to achieve with 165 grain bullets. If you are referring to the 308NM then I would suggest a slower burning propellant but it has been quite a while since I have loaded for that cartridge and I just don't remember what I used.

I use 165-168 TTSX's & Swift A-FRames in my 308s (and the A-FRames are well worth the higher price). Have shot caribou, blk bear, and grizzly bear with my 308s; and friend's wives have shot moose with their 308s. My guns like TAC and 8208XBR both of which are in and outta stock of late. 40 grains of 8208 gave me right under 2500 with a 16 inch barrel, 308 SCAR. I use 42 grains of TAC to get the same performance.

Couple of the locals got together and bought a nice order of powder a few weeks back. I got 5, one lbers of Varget, just to keep around; guess you are about right. Was quite happy to also get 20 lbs of RL-22, what I use in my Weatherby Mags. I'm actually about done buying powder forever, got enough for my grand kids to kill all the caribou they need long after I've left this good earth.

My 308 will shoot ok with Varget but it liked H4895 better and with several different bullets.
