Anyone have any advice or loads for the 500 jeffe shooting 550 gr GC?

I am thinking to just start with 92.5g of rl 15, and a filler, and start from there...

too fast a powder?

Alf,
I jsut ordered some 550 FN GC from Wayne Doubna, and the was CHEAP... he's up in wisconson, kinda your neck of the woods...

5744 "sounds" cool, but I am trying to find a powder that might work with both... or a milsurp, as I am planning on shooting these 500 rounds in the next couple months.. and that's 8# of powder...

I might have a source for the XMP 5744, but i aint not sure...

I have used XMP5744 in the 500 NE and it works great for no-recoil loads.

Jeff,

I loaded some of my 600 gr cast bullets over 85 gr H 4350, but haven't had a chance to shoot them yet. That bullet when seated to the canalure seats well below the shoulder, so there wasn't much air space.

If you want a fun plinker load, use 20 gr unique, should clock around 1000 fps.
