Does anyone have load data for using H870 in a 6.5x55 Swede using a 140 and 160 grain bullet?

I have about 8 pounds of this powder but am running out of my existing powders for this cartridge.

Too slow for this cartridge.

You can use it, but you will not get optimum velocity.

Seriously every cartridge I have loaded with H870 has been a compressed load but worked great with the 300 Winchester mag with 200 grain bullets.

I have load data for H1000 from several sources and it appears the H870 is only a little slower than that burn rate.

I am not looking for the optimum powder but one that will allow me to keep shooting during these times.

I also have heard that many of the H870 loads in the 6.5x55 are very accurate but slow.

This works for me because I don''t care about the velocity but the accuracy so I can use in a vintage rifle match.

A much better situation than going to the match with cartridges without powder.

I have only found one load online with a 130 grain bullet using 55 grains at a velocity of 2596fps

I think H870 is poor choice in 6.5x55. It works great in 264WM and any other "overbore" cartridge. Usually pretty dirty but great powder.

No need for loading "data" for this cartridge/powder combination. Just cram all of it you can into the case and you'll get a usable, though perhaps slower, round of ammunition. You won't be able to get enough H870 into a 6.5x55 to overload it.

Thanks to all of you who replied. I did a lot of searching and eventually got a couple of suggested loads. What I did find was a very interesting site by a guy named Steve who has posted loads for just about any gun, weight of bullet, and powder. take a look if you're interested.
