I just bought a Ruger #1 in 22PPC and am going to start reloading for it, but I see many powders seem to be work well for this caliber and am not sure what to try first. I have on hand H4198, RL7, AA2015, AA2230 all show to be good for that case. I have Norma brass and have Rem.6.5 SR primers. I have 40 gr & 52 gr bullets. Any suggestions on which powder to start with? Then what are the two best powders for this caliber? I have read they are H4198 & H322; is this correct?

I had a Sako 22ppc and mine liked imr4198 with the 52/3 grain bullets....the H322 did well also but I had more 4198 and used it most......I still have a few Sako 22PPC rounds of brass in case I run across another one but my 222Mag does just about the same and is in a repeater action if I want to use the mag..... I used Rem 7 1/2 primers in my PPC....hth..good luck and good shooting-loading! bigdaddytacp
