Well I loaded some loads with 8 grains of AA#5 and 100 grain Speer plinkers and at 50 yards am getting about 1/12 inch groups. I don't think that is bad for the plinker bullet design and for all the better the trigger is on an FR-8. I have thought of palying with the load a bit. How high can I go with AA#5?

Don, that sounds like pretty respectable accuracy for that type of bullet and load in an FR-8.

I think you are entering unexplored territory. I'd recommend increasing the load gradually in 1/2 gr. increments until you get the results you want OR see signs of excessive pressure.

What are you trying to achieve by increasing your 8 gr. load? More velocity, accuracy, or "smackdown" power?

I wouldn't really expect better accuracy by increasing the powder charge....... but who knows?

Please keep us posted on your progress.

I would be trying to achieve more accuracy if possiable. The way the bullets blow up on impact no more velocity or smack down power is needed. More or less I just want to play with it.
