Anyone load this in 300? How is your accurrracy? I use it in my 06, so was thinking of buying 8lbs. Or would I be better to go with H1000 or RE22? New toy and it is time to play. Thanks! [Big Grin]

The "4350" powders are okay in the .300 Winchester with bullet weights between 110 and 155 grain.

With the heavier bullets you would probably be better off with the slower powders.

Buy RL22. It's my most accurate propellant for 180g bullets in '06 and 180's and 200's in the 300 Win Mag.

Being a long time user of 4350 and 4831, I've gotten good results with both powders in my 300 Win Mag. A couple years ago, after experiencing some real scarry pressure spikes [Eek!] , due to the temperature sensitivity of these powders[ mid-summer hot day!]. I switched to Reloader 22 and have never looked back! [Wink]

IMR 4350 would work with your .300, but you would be handicapped with bullets heavier than 150 grains, and I would only want to shoot such heavier bullets in a .300 anyway.

I would recommend H4831 or IMR 7828. RL 22 is often a very good powder, but apparently is very inconsistent in burning characteristics from lot to lot. If you do go with RL 22, buy a long-term supply of a single lot of powder and be prepared to work your load up carefully. Every rifle is an individual, but every lot of RL 22 is even more individualistic.

I got rid of it now but I had a 300 WM that came with a load using IMR 4350 and the 180 gr bullet. It was so accurate and reliable that there was no reason to change the load.

The velocity was 3000 fps with reasonable pressure. No doubt the slower powders would produce a little more velocity and recoil.

IMR 4350 is a fantastic powder and useful in other rounds. I buy it in 8lb cans too.

I have not played with any of the 4350s much for my 300WinMag. I do have some experience with AA 3100. It's really fantastic.

I have a 180gr Sierra GameKing doing 3000fps and 1MOA. I'm also playing with a 220gr RN, loads ranging from 62 to 65 grains but have not shot the higher end of that yet. The 62gr load shot very well. Nice thud on the 250-yard steel pig too [Wink]

I have read good things about AA Winchester powders as being a great powder with RE22. Thanks for the help, I have the Nosler, Hodgon and Sierra manuals. [Big Grin]

I used RL 22 in my Wichester 300 Mag for years. In 2001, I tried RL 25. It was a tad better. Try RL 25 first, then RL 22. I sold my 300 Winchester Mag yesterday, 1-27-2003, and will use either a 300 WSM or a 270 WSM from here on. My load for the 300 short is RL 22. I play to try RL 25 in the 270. Both proved to be unfuzzy and I expect that to continue.
