Not possible to answer this, as we load so many cartridges of varying powder requirements.

I have no idea, I use a lot of different powder, but have no way of knowing which one I use the most, probably one of the RL powders..With a pistol probably 2400 I guess. Ive been using RL-17 and CFE223 a lot recently. Probably over the years I use more old WW2 4831 powder than any other and still have about 40 lbs of it, it still gets more velocity and less pressure than any modern powder...but the old powders like 4831, 4350 just don't measure without cutting grs. which is a minor pain but Ive pretty much replaced them with H414, CFE223 and the RL powders as I hate to weigh charges. I use a lot of IMR4350. It accounts for my most accurate loads in the following cartridges .243, .257 Roberts, 6.5 Swede, .280, .284, 30/40 Krag, 30/06, .300 Win Mag, .338 Win Mag. I use quite a bit of TAC in .223's, 6x45, 25/45 Sharps, 7.62x39, 30/30 and some use in the 400 Whelen with 300 grain bullets. Some other powders I couldn't be without are Reloader 15, fantastic in my .375 H&H's, Reloader 17, H380 and IMR4895.

Reloader 15 for me…#2 would be AA 2230. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I'm kinda right there right with a lot of the powders ya'll have already mentioned! Use Red Dot for 2 high volume practice loads for 2 pistols. Use Green Dot for both 12, 28 ga high volume field & skeet loads. Also use GD for another pistol practice load. Use IMR-4350 for 3 different rifle cartridges. Use IMR-4320 for 2 other rifle cartridges. Use H-110 for a rifle cartridge and a pistol hunting load. Keep good bit of H4895 around. Load 2 rifles with it. Also like to throw this power in the mix when I 1st start working up reloads for almost every rifle cartridge. It will load just about all of'em and use it as a standard for velocity comparison. ________ Ray

Through the years I've used by far more surplus 4831 than any other powder. Still using on some. I've probably loaded more rounds with Unique, but since those are handgun calibers and shotshells the volume doesn't add up to nearly as much as the surplus 4831.

Rifle: RL-17 (friend's .30-06 and 8x57IS Mauser, my .375 H&H, .585 Hubel Express). Revolver and pistol: Many different powders for various loads, bullet weights etc., but now H110 the most. Shotgun: Will start to reload heavy lead and TSS loads soon, will use Lil'Gun exclusively. Jiri

...but I'll bet not by volume! You can load about 32,573 38Sp rounds for the same weight of powder as 1 round of 300 Win Mag. LOL back to reality: I can't list (won't take the time) all the powders that I've used through the years but by shear round-count it would have to be Unique in a pistol. Zeke

unique. I shoot cowboy action and can use 7 grains of unique in 44 mag, 44-40, 45 acp and 45 colt. I don't have to reset the powder measure unless I am moving to a rifle round. They all chrono in the 850 to 900 fps range too, with bullets 200 grains to 250 grains depending on the caliber.

In terms of volume, Vectan AS would far exceed any other powder I have ever used. Of course this was because it is my go to powder for fast 32 gram lead shotshell reloading, target and field. I also use the identical 22 grain charge of Vectan AS for loading cast in my 404 Jeffery. Nothing beats this red and green flake powder for consistency and absolute clean burn characteristics. PS. Interchangeable with Red Dot

Hows that for answering your question, your right back where you started..so are the rest of us btw.. Your question was loaded!! You can't compare pistol to rifle in this case, one or the other..Pistol reloading is way beyond rifle reloading in that pistol shooters shoot more than rifle shooters as a rule and reload way more ammo than rifle shooters..fact not fiction, and Im sure there are a few exceptions, I mean this is AR!!
