I am beginning to work with an old wildcat, a full length .219 Improved Zipper with minimum body taper and radius shoulder. Going by published dimensions for a .225 Win, capacity should be almost the same between the two rounds. If I weigh an unsized case, spent primer intact, then fill with water and weigh again, water capacity is 40 grains. Anybody got a fired .225 Win they could check the water capacity on for a compairason? Thanks for any help.

LOAD FROM A DISK show a 219 Improved Zipper with a lenght of 1.875" as 38.2gr of H2O. A 225 Win is 38.03gr. The 219 I.Zipper is a 40K CUP case and the 225 Win is a 50K CUP case. The 219 Donaldson Wasp is 37.45gr of H2o and uses the same 30-30 bases case as the Zipper.

Craigster, thanks much, that is exactly what I wanted to know. Fat Albert, my rifle isn't the usual .219 Alk Imp Zipper, It's a 1.928" chamber length with the radius shoulder blown forward. Your comments on pressure
are well advised however. Although I am forming from new .30-30 brass I intend to keep pressure moderate in deference to the 1902 vintage High Wall action. Thanks for your replies.
