Hi!

I need help with the quick load and gunpowder, which I will use the Barnes TSX 300 gr. My .416 rem mag with 24 "barrel. B. C. .298.

I use Norma powder 203 B to the Swift A-Frame 350 gr. Should I have the same to the Barnes TSX or can I have Norma 202 or 204?

What is the maximum load that I can use?

I thank you in advance for your help!

The trouble is I have no experience of the cartridge whatsoever and I suspect very few of our American friends will use Norma powders.

For what it's worth I ran the numbers in Quickload for you but have no idea how accurate the results are.

 Cartridge : .416 Rem. Mag.
Bullet : .416, 300, Barnes 'TSX' FB 41683
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.600 inch or 91.44 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch or 609.6 mm

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.

Matching Maximum Pressure: 58015 psi, or 400 MPa

or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 105 %

These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.
USE ONLY FOR COMPARISON !

22 loads produced a Loading Ratio below user-defined minimum of 60%. These powders have been skipped.

Hi!

Thanks for your reply! It gives me some guidance on where to start. It becomes gunpowder 203B which I will use as it looks like.
Norma, Rhino, Reloader and Rottweil is the same powder and manufactured here in Sweden at a factory in Bofors.
There are no sellers of RL's gunpowder here in Sweden anymore.
Below is a table of gunpowder and the names it has and what it represents.

Rhino RP 7 (Reloader 7)
Rhino RP 9 (Norma 200, Rottweil R901)
Rhino RP10 (Reloader 10X)
Rhino RP11 (Norma 201, Rottweil R902)
Rhino RP12 (Reloader 12)
Rhino RP13 (Rottweil R907)
Rhino RP14 (Norma 202)
Rhino RP15 (Norma 203B, Reloader 15)
Rhino RP16 (Rottweil R903)
Rhino RP17 (Norma URP)
Rhino RP18 (Norma 204, Rottweil R904)
Rhino RP19 (Reloader 19)
Rhino RP20 (Rottweil R905)
Rhino RP22 (Norma MRP, Reloader 22)
Rhino RP25 (Reloader 25)
Rhino RP30 (Norma MRP2)
