Would like to hear from those who do, or have loaded the 7mm08 with 160gn pills with a 3.0" overall length.
What Vel. have you achieved?
Does loading the 160to3.0" allow you the same powder capacity as one would get if loading the 140gn to 2.8"length?
What is the difference in actual projectile length between a 140and160 bt,accubond, interbond?

I don't know why you would use 3.0" overall length. I have loaded the 160 gr Sierra HPBT for 20 yrs in my 7mm08 until recently switching to the Barnes TSX.

The 160 is loaded to 2.75 inches and I use H4350EXT and 43.8 gr. This is the most accurate load I have ever shot. 3/8" groups are easy

Why do you think more powder is going to do anything for you? I would much rather have a slower bullseye instead of a fast miss anyday. Pay no attention to COL. It all depends on the type, brand, lot, of bullet and the internal dimensions of your particular rifle.
