I bought a custom blackhawk in this caliber. I have a couple of light loads from the gun maker using cast performance 370 and 440 bullets and 2400 powder. I am looking for other loads with cast bullets that keep pressure low and velocity under 1000 ft./s. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Matt FISH!! I have a .500 S&W. I load the 440 grain bullet to 1191 fps average with TightGroup. I load a 400 grain RCBS bullet to 796 fps average with Unique and 761 fps average with 231. The Unique load is much more accurate. I just started playing with this gun again. I don't know the "fudge factor" from .500 to special. There is a lot of discussion out there about using any of the 3 powders in such a large case. Be careful! | |||
