You can start with the loads for the 120 grain bullet and work from there.
3 grains in bullet weight will not make much difference.

56.1 grains is listed as a max load using RL-22 per Hornady's fifth edition. 3,100 FPS

Thanks fellas, I was concerned with the additional bearing surface more than the extra three grains.

Vapo, does it list anything with IMR4350 OR H4831? Those are the only two I have on hand.

Thank you sir. Ill back off 10% and work up to those.I shot some with a load of 17 gr of Trail Boss today, and was very impressed with the load. It shot about 6 inches low, but I had several shots touching at 100 yards. Might kill a turkey with it this spring. Those round noses weemed to work magic in the old 6.5x55s, Im curious what theyll do in a 25-06.
Kinda changing the subject, but what do you reckon a 100gr Hornady Interlock would clock over 51 gr of IMR 4350? Seated in the groove at 3.110"? Its a very accurate load too, just curious as to the velocity. I have lots of room to go up, 53gr is max, but my groups start to open up above 52gr. Take care, and thanks for the help with those round noses, theyre not all that common.

Hey Matt,

Years ago I loaded up some of those RN to the first load Vapo posted. That is so close to my normal load I figured why not give them a try. They shot wonderfully, and I had hopes of using them on some feral hogs, but never got the chance.

The second load you asked about, shoots about 3150 FPS, from my rifle with it's 24" barrel. It just never gave the accuracy for me that a similar load of IMR-4831 did, so I simply left well enough alone and kept the latter.

I can tell you, if you haven't tried them already, the 110gr Accubond has been the bullet of choice for the past 3-4 years in my, well now the daughters) rifle. Usingthe same load of RL-22 I used for my 115gr Partition loads, I simply swapped out the bullets, with no change to the seating die or anything else. The first five shots at 200yds, we had to ride out and look at the target to see where they all hit within the ragged hole.

Good luck with your loads, hope they work out for you on those turkeys.

Hey Mike. Seems like most everyone with a 25-06 gets great accuracy. Ive had mine more than 15 years, but never shot anything except 120gr Win PEP factorie stuff. They shot under an inch, and have performed real well on game, so I left well enough alone. Im down to my last box now, so thought Id finally try some handloads. So far so good. The Trail Boss is fun to. Its like shooting a 22 mag.

Load that 117 round nose as slow as it will go. It was meant to be going 2400fps out of a 25-35.

I'm not sure what brand of bullet is in the Rem factory loads 117grn rn for the .257Roberts (core loct I guess??), but they were listed at 2660fps, and were pretty darn accurate and very light kicking in my Roberts. They would be a legit 200yrd deer load, and would mimick the 180grn rn 30-06 trajectory.
