Has anyone tried using a case filler of any sort to keep the powder back aginst the wall of a case to improve shot to shot Ballistics? May not be a good idea but was just curious.
Nope. My hunting load is a 300-335 gr LBT and a casefilling charge of H110 so there is no room or need for filler. My practice loads use WW231 or Unique under a 255 gr SWC BB and I haven't noticed any problems, at least out to 50 yards.
When I started shooting CAS I experimented abit w/ fillers & fast poweders. Accuracy does improve, but switching to a bulkier slower powder does the same thing w/o the hassle.

I was just wondering as the web site I posted the other day Talked about shootin up, and down with a dramatic spread of velocity recordings, and my thought was that if this is a real problem , even though it would add another step to the reloading process if it did in fact give a more consistant set of ballistics it minght be worth while, agreably not every one would be interested, sort of goes with the old saying "nothing asked, nothing gained"!!
You are correct, using fast powders in a large volumn case can cause erratci vel. and filler helps. I just think switching to bulkier/slower powder accomplishes the same thing w/ less work. The cost of each round is a bit more but for me time is money.

Thanks guys for the input, your right I'm sure and I would have to agree with the responses, and it is for the most part a no brainer to simply use a bulkier powder load and not worry about up, and down muzzle shooting.
