Winchester has had Staball 6.5 powder out for a while. It shows up on burn rate charts between Hodgdon Hybrid 100v and RL 19. They have two new Stabill powders outnow . Staball Match which is faster burning and Staball H D which is slower. I cant find any burn rate charts that show these two new powders.. I am most interested in the HD version. Anyone have any info as to where it fits in on a burn rate chart ?? or anyload data for cartridges. 6.5 , 7mm Rem or any short mags . Thanks

Based on the advertising and what I've seen from some interviews with Hodgdon onliine, it's in the super-slow category. They most favorably compared it with Retumbo. It's designed to be a good match for the newer crop of hi performance magnums - the Noslers, PRC's, and the like. It's trickling out right now, so I'm sure we'll see load reviews and more data soon. _____________________________________________________ No safe queens!

Having used a lot of W-760 and BLC-2 over the years I am intrigued by these powders. I have a couple lbs of Staball 6.5 but haven't tested it yet. I am in the process of building another 260 Rem. When that rifle is done I will definitely try it out. The "Match" version is supposedly about the same burn rate as Varget. That was straight from a Hodgdon rep at the shot show. I intend to try it in my 308 as well. AK-47 The only Communist Idea that Liberals don't like.

StaBall HD is 1 position slower on the burn chart from Retumbo. I called Hodgdon and was told Retumbo will be hard to find (I know. Haven't seen any in over a year.) and to pick up the StaBall as it will be more available. I did pick up 3 lbs of the StaBall but haven't loaded any yet.

Retumbo is made in Australia for Hodgdon so with the way shipping is today that probably explains why it is hard to find for you guys. It's a struggle to get the ADI powders from Aussie to us here in NZ which is only a short hop across the ditch. The Tasman Sea between us has been kayaked by one or two hardy souls. Maybe I just need to paddle over and bring some much needed powder back for myself

I think in the last 6 months there's been a couple of ADI shipments into NZ. The most recent within the last month or so. A lot of it has been snapped up but I hear there's still a few containers around. If you need something it might pay ringing around a few shops to find out what remains. That's why I try to support ADI. They seem to be trying a bit harder than other brands to supply NZ shooters. Hunting.... it's not everything, it's the only thing.

Hodgden has the updated burn rate charts on their website. It shows Staball Match similar to Winchester 748 and Staball HD similar to Retumbo. Here's the link on Hodgden's sute, https://hodgdon.com/resources/data-sheets/ You will find a link to the burn rate chart on this page.
