I am looking for your recommendations as to which bullets to try and where you recommend I buy bullets for the 6.5X284 I am getting built this winter. It is primarily for long range hunting and a little informal paper punching. The barrel is an 1:8 twist.

I'd use a 140-grain Nosler Partition or a Barnes X of that weight at maximum attainable velocities! Your twist will handle the heavier bullets, (up to 165 grains) but most of them are roundnose types which are not as good at retaining velocity.
