I will be reloading the .32 H&R magnum cartridge for a 10" Thompson Contender barrel with a .308 bore for IHMSA competition. I want to use Titegroup and the Magnus # 205, 100 gr. SWCFB cast-lead bullet. I also want to keep this round sub-sonic. QUESTION IS: How much Titegroup? Any experience out there with this combo? Please advise. Thank you !

Folks, here's what I've found:

I'm using 3.0 gr. of Titegroup under a 100 gr., .309 dia., SWCFB hard cast bullet (Magnus #205 - www.magnusbullets.com). Winchester small pistol primer, Starline shell case. COL of 1.365". I full-case size, bell the shell and crimp to just close the case-edge bell. These loads are sub-sonic and I get 2" groups at 100 yards in my T/C 10" barrel. Love this load and the bullet. I've tried AA7, but it is not as accurate as the Titegroup.

Good luck & GOOD SHOOTING !

Dino,
Is Starline still selling brass for the 32 H&R? I cannot see it on their web-site. Or are you forming brass from another caliber? Peter.

IHMSAKIWI:

Is Starline selling .32 H&R magnum cases? Yes they are ! It's not on the front page, but is in the price list. Last time I bought them (October '01) they were $55.00 for 500.

If you intend to use them in a T/C barrel, you have to modify the expanding die to no larger than .307. If you don't have dies, RCBS sells a Special Order set of dies just for the purpose of loading a .308 bullet in the .32 cal case. Part number is 55010 and the set sells for $44.95 plus $6.00 shipping and need to be ordered directly from RCBS, no suppliers such as Midsouth or Midway. Call them to order.

Good luck !
Dino
