Where can I find out information about this cartridge? And what are the velocity capabilities? Thanks

What exactly do you want to know, I have been shooting one for bout 6 months.

I have the following velocities out of it:

140 grain - 3025
125/129 grain - 3230
120 grain - 3145
95 grain - 3455

I am very pleased with mine. It has a Shilen SS select match barrel with a 1-8 twist that is 26 inches long mated to a Win mod 70 action that was trued and bolt face trued, pillar bedded and barrel floated.

Hope this helps.

I have a 240Gibbs,quite similar. It drives 75gr. bullets at 3850 from a 28" Gaillard stainless barrel. I haven't shot any other bullets from this rifle for a long time so this is the only data I have.Mark

where did you find 6mm bullets in those weights?

Try Darrell at www.hollandguns.com He shoots one. I believe he was pushing 90gr NoslerBTs at 3795fps. I don't know the length of his barrel but his rifle sure was purdy. sure-shot

There is not much difference between the 6mm X 06 Ackley Improved and the .240 Weatherby. Find a loading manual that has loads for the .240 Weatherby, and back the powder down a couple of grains on the lowest loads and start there.
