Mike, Are these newer rounds catching on down under? Are they easy to get or still sorta new and untested?--------Chainsaw

Note that the moderator on ShortMags forum has already sold his M70 Featherweight because he could not get it to group well enough. The problems seem to be similar to the ones I had but he had the wood stock, I think, and I have the plastic one. Now he has the same caliber, a 270 WSM in the SS Classic.

Chainsaw,

There are some of them about and the larger gunshops have them. They will sell more of them when they are here in Rugers, Howas or CZs as they are the big selling rifles in Australia beause they are much lower in price than Model 70 or Rem 700s. At the moment a Howa or Ruger in 7mm Rem or 300 Win for about $575US offers a lot compared to a 270 WSM or 300 WSM in a Model 70 for $850US

But overall I do not think they will make much of a dent in the 270 Win and 308 Win sales.

Mike
