Like Ramrod, I think H414 is the ONLY powder for a 7x57, but I have a very long throated rifle, which is just another way to improve a caliber, and I load a charge way beyond his max load.

If you have a long throated 7x57 such as a Brno 21 or 22 where you can seat a 175 gr. Hornady half way to the cannalure and have a 06 length magazine then give me a call and I will give you my load information, I won't on the forum as surly someone would try and shoot it in a std lenth chamber and it would blow a primer or worse....

Browning Guy: Thanks for info. re R19 on 7x57 loads..
Did you ever try R22? I have an old load program (circa 1990, called "Best Load" by Vancini...it recommends 47.6 gr
R19...but then says R22 will fill the case more (residency)
& recommends 50 gr. of R22. I have one reloading book that
says "medium burning rate powders" are recommended...but then when you get into R19 & R22...its on the slower rate.
I wonder if the reloading manual guys ever think to try the new computer designed loading programs, or just publish the same old data...dunno, wish they would use modern material.
Maybe its too advanced for them? Thanks for info, Tom

Thanks, Ray: I really don't know what I have yet...I just
bought the rifle at a Cody Gun Show & haven't checked it out yet...I used to do gunsmithing when younger...so can find out all about it eventually. Its modern (maybe 1984 or
so)...an Interarms Rifle...Yugoslavia mark X Mauser type action, Mannlicher Stock, 20 " barrel. Pretty nice overall,
only used very little...metal just perfect.
I was kinda interested in experience of reloaders as I find a lot of different opinions...
I'll get back to you later..
Thanks for reply, Tom
