3ea. Mod 200s ,range results

fishing 3 ea. Stevens mod 200s. .270 with about 300 rounds through it. 7-08 never fired. 7mm. Rem. mag. never fired. Terribly windy day, gusts probably over 50 mph.

.270, 150gr psp bulk, FC cases, 215 primers, oal=3.336"
  • 51.6gr. DP85, clean ,mild, 2629 to 2692 fps. 4 shots less than 1" at 50yds.
  • 52.9gr. DP85, mild, clean, 2680 to 2751 fps., 3 shot 1/2" group at 50yds.

    .270, 150gr. Speer Hot Core, FC cases, 215 primers, oal=3.340".
  • 51.6gr., DP85, clean, mild, 2608 to 2646fps., 1" group at 50 yds., OK at 300 yds.
  • 52.9gr., DP85, 2605 to 2707 fps., 4 shot 3/4" group at 50yds., great at 300.

    7mm-08, 139gr. FP Blem, 45gr. DP85, RP .308 cases, WLR primer, oal=2.590"., 2541 to 2590 fps., !' group at 50yds.,great at 300yds.OUT OF THE BOX.

    7mm. Rem. Mag.,
  • 139gr. FP Blem, 57.6 gr. DP85, RP cases, #34 primers, oal=3.115", 2745 to 2791, looks good. OUT OF THE BOX.
  • 154gr. spire, 57.6gr. DP85, #34 primer, WW-Super cases, oal=3.285", sooty, 2715 to 2838 fps. 2" group at 50yds. OK at 200 yds.
  • 150gr. Speer psp., 54gr 7383, FC cases, #34 primers, oal= 3.240", 2623 to 2647 fps. 4 shot 1" group at 50yds. All powder burned. Nice at 300yds.

    Not sure yet what the 7mm mag. will become but as soon as the barrel arrives the 7mm-08 will become a light weight 7.62 X 41. BOOMroger lefty

    Hi Bartsche, in your opinion what is the burn rate of DP 85? I load for alot of 270's and a couple of 243's.
