I've been shopping and stocking up when local store have powder on sale. Just last week I purchased H414 for $12.40/lb, and RL-7 and IMR 7828 cost me $14.36/lb. No shipping or HazMat fees either.

I always try to buy local for two reasons. First, it keeps the Mom & Pop places open, second, it's almost always cheaper to buy over the counter than to have to eat the shipping and hazmat!

The only exception is the Viht powders which are just too damn expensive no matter where you buy them.

Typically different vendors will have different brands at different prices I usually wind up buying 10-20 Lbs at a time to spread the HazMat fees out a bit. Typically Midsouth has the lowest prices for IMR powders but charges more for Hodgon (strange because Hodgon owns IMR now).

Midway had some good prices on Hodgon and Accurate powders a couple of months ago.

Hey what part of Lousyana are you from? There are several places in the Southeast that you could go to and not pay the HAZMAT fees. I get my stuff here in New Orleans.

Wow you are up there!

Well I usually go to "The Shooter's Club" on Saint's Drive which is just a couple blocks towards the lake on David Drive.

Another option is http://www.e-reloading.com/

They are located in Gonzales just west of Baton Rouge.

If that doesn't help to much here are the links to possible dealers in your area. Chances are if they have more than just one brand if they have alliant or hodgdon.

http://www.hodgdon.com/cgi-bin/dealers/search.pl

http://www.alliantpowder.com/

(click the dealer locator at alliant and punch in your zip; I found several dealers in your area)

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Natchez has the best prices I have found. 8 pounds of Accurate 2230 for $60.00. Even when you add in freight and haz mat, better deal than most.
I wish I was close enough to pick it up in person, that would be $7.50 per lb. I use this powder for almost all of my rifles, and it works very well.
