I have all the various loads listed on these forums for the 200 & 225 grain bullets but does anyone have a good load for the Seirra 215 grain
338 bullet in the 338/06? Thanks in advance.

I like 55 gr.of N150 for 2700fps out of my 24" bbl or 53 gr of RL 15. Sierra says RL19 with 65.8 for 2700 as their hunting load. These are safe in my rifle only, start 10% below and work up as always.

The Sierra bullet doesn't shoot well in my .338-06. None of the 225gr do either, weird huh? Like Rob, I have had good luck also w/ RL15 & the 210gr NP & RL19 w/ the 250gr NP. Good luck!

pdog,

With that 27"bbl. I would think you could get really good vel. from RL19 & the variuos 3450's under a 250gr bullet.

IMR4320 is second choice for my .338-06. It gives slightly lower vel. w/ about the same accuracy w/ the 210grNP. Also a good choice though.

I had the same results: the Sierra 215 SBT doesn't shoot well in my Weatherby. Tried loads with RL-15, W760 and H4350, and all stunk, 3-shot groups over over 2" at 100Y.

kudu, I am thinking it may be the boat tail. The Speer 200gr & other flat base bullets shoot fine. I am also dissapointed w/ the accuracy from the 200gr & 225gr Hornadys. For my rifle, it's the 210gr or 250gr NP (not a bad dilemma though).

ABM, Is that load info right, 55gr 4320 & a 250gr bullet? That must be a screamer? 55gr under a 210gr NP is max. in my rifle, good for about 2750fps.

fredj338 I have tryed several IMR powders and a couple of surplus ones I haven't been impressed with the Vel. at all. I'll might just have to get a can of RL 15 and try it. Other wise I get all signs of over pressure before I hit the vel that a lot of people say they are getting with there 338 06's. I haven't shot any light bullets in it just 225s and 250s.

I hit pressure signs before I was able to get anywhere with R15. For the most part, I use 4064 and a little 4320. I've also used H4350 with the 225's. I've never tried the 215's though.
