I am interested in taking some "action" shots of firing guns. I am hoping to have a nice muzzle flash in the picture. Primary calibers will be 45, 10/40, and an .308 rifle w/16" barrel. Any suggestions on what powder to use to get a nice, large muzzle flash. Chris

blc-2 for the 0.308 IMR 800x for the 10mm, specifically a full load behind the 135 gr bullet. truly impressive.

I am not familiar with blc-2. Can you tell me more about it. Will give the IMR a shot. Thanks Chris

I have never done this, but I would be tempted to try an amount of slow powder under a cardboard wad. Or a fast powder for that matter, but if all you want is the flash you don't necessarily need the bullet. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

http://www.reloadbench.com/gloss/hblc2.html Mark, I do believe you will need a bullet to get the powder to burn, I could be wrong.

HS6 for the hanguns, H335 for the rifle. These are the flashiest powders I've ever used. Well, at least have an OK day

Try a powder wayyy too slow for the caliber. Load the 308 with some RL22 or something that will never make pressure, and still be burning as it exits the muzzle. That should light up the night for ya. Difficulty is inevitable Misery is optional
