A friend just gave me an unused ZKK in 6.5x55 Mauser. Does anyone here have a recommended load for these rifles? I just need a starting point. I realize I'll have to tweak the load to the rifle. I have H4350 and H4831 powder on hand and Hornady Interlock 139 grain bullets right now.

Hublocker Is that 139 gr Hornady bullets you have or 129 gr bullets?? I have found H4831 and 129 gr Hornadys to be very accurate in a couple 6.5s I've had. Start @ 44grs and work up carefully watching for pressure signs. There is a wide variety of cases out there so your max can vary quite a bit. Hope that helps

With the 139grain bullet 48grains of H-4831 accurately moves the bullet at 2750 fps. in the 24" Shaw barrel and close to 2800fps in the Mil. barrel. START LOWER!! roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..
