Hi, I just picked up this rifle, and was wondering what weight bullets work best in this rifle.
Due to the tremendous recoil, must be flat-nose bullets. Big Grin
Thanks

I think you will have a chance to be indecisive here since there is a huge choice of bullets.

1. The lightweight high velocity 60 grn Hornady

2. The mid weight 75 grn Speer

3. The uber heavy 87 grn Remington

Not only is the recoil heavy but when the magazine is full the rifle is no longer portable.

Of the bullets listed the Speer was developed for the Marlin lever guns about 10 years ago.

The Hornady 60 grain flat point works well in the .25-20 for a jacketed bullet and the 86 grain lead bullets also work well.

Consult your loading data as there may not be data available for such things as a 75 grain HP used as a single shot.

I'm using 86 grain cast lead bullets in my M25 propelled by AA 1680. It seems to like the combination.
