Hi to all.
Just wondering if redding dies will fit in a rcbs rock chucker press. Thinking of trying them If they will fit what would be a good die set to get for the 270 win.what do you think of redding dies ?? And are redding 44 mag.carbide dies any better then rcbs if so why ??

They'll work and fit fine, ..........as will C-H, Pacific, Hornady, Lee, etc. The Redding dies are usually considered just a bit better than RCBS quality and tolerance wise. ~Arctic~

It is always a good idea to match the brand of shellholder with the brand of reloading die you are using. Consider them a 'matched set' due to different tolerances betweeen companies. Happily, shellholders are cheap.

I load to very tight tolerancies - not that I need to just gives me something to do - and my RCBS shellholder in a RockChucker press works great with my Redding Bushing Comp dies.

Shoot straight!

bullseye44,

I have been very happy with them. My only regret is I did not get the micrometer on the bullet seater. They weren't the cheapest but i think the cost is the same in the long run. I even sent them back to the gunsmith who built my rifle for fine tuning (just in case) and he did not modify them at all. He said it one one of the few die sets he has not changed.

Shoot straight!
