Gentlemen,
I would like to know if there are any loads for the above given combination that could yield a muzzle velocity of around 2370 fps in an old Husqvarna m96 rifle? Within safe pressures of course.
I have norma and winchester cases.
Alternatively, is there a better (vv or norma) powder available for pushing both the 156grain oryx above 2370fps in the 6,5x55SE AND to have a great plinking load for the 200grain Sierra FN in .375 HH. The reason for this need of one powder for both loads is the regulations that state that a reloader are not allowed to have more than 4 pounds of gunpowder at home at any given time where I live.

Sincerely
Daniel

What state is that! I want to make sure I don't move there. shame That's quite a balancing act, but RL15 or IMR4064 should provide a decent compromise. I would want something slower for the 156gr 6.5 but @ the vel. you are talking, RL15 would be ok.

Thanks for the reply! I guess that this equation is hard to solve. I live on the opposite side of the little atlantic puddle, as seen from Your side. Here in Sweden there are lots of restrictions on reloaders and hunters.

If I remember correctly, the upper limit for storage in a standardized mandatory gunsafe (safety standard SS3492) that ALL gun owners MUST have is: up to 2000 primers, and up to 2kg (roughly 4,4 lbs) smokeless gunpowder. You might also store up to 6 hunting rifles there on your license. More than 6 rifles are not allowed unless really good reasons (minimum working as a PH). For black powder I think the limit is one lbs or 500g. It is not allowed to store more than 50 lbs of munition in a house either, which equals around 500 shells for a 12 gauge.

I haven't been to Sweden, yet, but I am glad we have the availability of components here in the states. I could probably live w/ (4) diff. powders for all of my shooting, but it would inconvenient at the least. Good shooting! beer

gsp7, he wants to use the same powder for his 6.5 & .375h&H w/ light bullets. RL22 is too slow for the .375h&h.
