I just exhausted my supply of XMP 5744, which I use for reduced loads in my 470 NE. I went to buy more yesterday, and it seems that AA makes a powder called simply 5744. Is this just a name change, and is this the same powder?

It is basically a re-introduction of the earlier powder. Supposedly the same, but as I always suggest, any time you change a component, re-work the load.

AA does not make powder, they get it from all over the world, what ever is available. Their quality bridges the gap between custom canister and surplus bulk powder.

I have the XMP, and it is stick powder, and although unpublished, works well 15 gr, 110 gr 7.62x25mm Tokarev bottle necked pistol cartridge.
