64 grain power points in .223 with Reloader #7
I've been working up a hunting load for my CZ 527 in .223 using 64 grain powerpoints and reloader#7. The rifle LOVES the bullets. Shooting a 2" 300 yard group. But the velocity is about 300 fps shy of what the manuals say it should be at only 2630fps. Do any of you guys have a pet load for this bullet?

P.S. the rifle has a 20.5" barrel and 1:12 rifling.

Don't have my notebook details handy but I have a 22 inch 1:9 bolt gun that likes 64 gr powerpoints pretty well over WW748 (kills deer just fine too) and IMR4198 shows promise but there is more work to do.

I just worked up a load with the 64 grain Winchesters for a friend's .223. Five shots went into .67" propelled by 25 grains of H-335. Velocity from his abbreviated 20" barrel was 2900 fps. A 24" tube would undoubtedly yield over 3000 fps. This was with military cases. CAUTION: This load is safe in this particular rifle. Not having tried it in any other rifle, I cannot say what kind of pressure potential it might have.
