I'm using RL15. Do I need filler in .375 H&H?
On a separate issue, I got a case stuck and the primer blew. I'm using nickle plated Federal brass and I could swear the instructions from RCBS said that a carbide die should be used but,as someone pointed out, there ain't any.
I did use lube. Why did it stick?

Not enough lube , what type lube are you using ?.

I wear nitrile gloves latex work to ; I'll lube large magnum especially Belted cases by hand

after I spray BoeShield T9 on my cases . I use a shallow flat box , I'll then quickly spray

and grab those cases with my gloved hand ,roll them all in my hand place them back into the box .

Then proceed to size .

It's cured my sticking ANY cases regardless of caliber or configuration .

Not sure as to the question of filler for RL 15 why ?. Are you reducing loads drastically ?.

I don't recommend loading other than what a reloading manual calls for ESPECIALLY in LARGE CASES

reducing loads can be the MOST DANGEROUS in those types of cases / because of flash over secondary

explosions !. I still have 8 fingers 2 thumbs 2 ears 2 eyes and prefer the package I came equipped

with as opposed to alteration or losses !!!!!!!. tu2

Doc, I use the RCBS case lube that you drip onto the ink pad like thing. I may have done a poor job of rolling the case on the pad or, I may had adjusted the die so that the case went too far in. I will be more careful. I called Midway and ordered the kit to pull stuck cases and a new die in case that doesn't work. This is the first time I have loaded nickle cases. My 416 brass cases never gave me any trouble.

Now to the filler issue. I read on one of the forums that people were using fillers like dacron with Reloader 15. I think they were loading 470 or bigger and I assumed that the RL15 had insufficient volume to fill the case.
It made me worry that I should be doing that with the .375 BUT the powder comes to the bottom of the neck so it doesn't look like there is enough room for filler.
By the way, I'm loading Barnes TSX and Banded Solids using the Barnes manual and the lowest powder charge which is 65 grains carefully measured with an RCBS digital scale.

Thanks you gentlemen for the help. I do not have much experience loading rifle ammo.

I would certainly second the motion regarding Imperial Sizing Wax for having tried various others, it works well and a small tin of it wil last quite a long time. Good stuff.

R. G. Howard ; I own easy outs and previously used them for pulling stuck cases regardless of size .

Something EVERY reloader should have on hand IMO . KROIL or AERO KROIL .

Simply spray kroil around the cartridge base while it's upside down to facilitate flow and allow to set

about an hour . Either easy outs or Vice grips on case base and twist .

Die will need to be held in a vise preferably near the top . Bingo 9/10 times she comes right out !.

I haven't used a pad for 30 years . Personally I've found by rolling the cases in my gloved hand there's

no excess and it gets precisely where it needs to be . As Boeshield T-9 leaves a wax residue and aids in

extraction as well as brass cleanliness ,I've yet to find it's equal . I do wipe the cartridges off with

a soft clean cotton towel after reloading but the wax film remains and harms NOTHING !.

Dude, if you've stuck that many cases, you need to switch to Imperial sizing wax.

The primer blew while being seated?I have some Federal .223 brass I was going to reload but I noticed they did a very poor job machining the brass right around the primer pocket.I'm surprised the primers didn't blow or at least get squished some while they were seating them at the factory.
